Rosalie A. Rood

ALBION – Rosalie Ann Rood, 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Albion with her family by her side on Nov. 6, 2022.

Rosalie was born on April 27, 1936, to Wellman and Lucy (Fuller) Haskell in Palermo Maine. Rosalie graduated from Erskine Academy

Rosalie was a homemaker and supporter of her husband’s businesses (farming, trucking, and carpentry) through the early years. In later years she was very proud and happy to be part of the family business, B&B Precise Products, which is a manufacturing facility.

Rosalie enjoyed traveling with friends and family to the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii, Myrtle Beach, and many trips to visit family in Florida and Arizona. One of her most favorite places to be was at camp on Moosehead Lake.

She loved attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events, with basketball being her favorite sport. She could be heard cheering loudly and proudly for her Lawrence Bulldogs.

Rosalie also enjoyed her morning routine of having breakfast at Albion Mini Mart and visiting and going down memory lane with her cousin Barb Knights at the store over coffee each morning. Her evenings were filled with family dinners and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

Rosalie was predeceased by her parents, Wellman and Lucy Haskell; her husband, Ernest A. Rood; her son-in-law, Donald Bolduc; her grandson, Jonathan Spaulding; and her great grandson, Jon Spaulding. She was also predeceased by her sister, Pearle Hamilton, sister, Peggy Jones and her brothers, Jack Haskell, Joe Haskell, Clayton Haskell, Bill Haskell, and Steve Haskell; and by many brothers and sisters-in-law.

Rosalie is survived by her four children, Laura Strohman and her husband, Joe Strohman, Terry Bolduc, Judy Gagnon and her husband, Gary Gagnon, and Wellman Rood and his wife, Peggy Rood; her grandchildren, Eric Spaulding, Lucy Gagnon, Nicole Quirion and her husband, Barry, Melissa Vega and her husband, Carlos, Bryan Rood and Liz, Frank Bolduc, Meagin Beale and her husband, Andy, Miranda Rood, Bryce Rood and his wife, Kayla, Molly King and her husband, Brandon; 37 great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren. Rosalie was known as “Grammy Rood” to many others including Denielle Chase and her five children. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service on Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, at 11 a.m., at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Albion, Maine. A reception will follow at Rosalie’s home.
