Richard George Cummings

PITTSTON – Richard George Cummings, 66, died Friday, November 4, 2022, at his home.

He was born in Gardiner, Maine on March 10, 1956, the son of Robert and Berniece (Brigham) Cummings.

He graduated from Gardiner Area High School in 1974.He was a proud Eagle Scout. Richard always spoke fondly of his time working at Deering Ice Cream. In 1979 Richard and Patricia moved to Arizona where they enjoyed many adventures before moving back to Maine in 1983. In 1984 they purchased their family home and settled in Randolph and raised their sons. Richard (Dick) started working for Jewett Builders in 1984 where he worked until he retired in 2017. Richard was an avid basketball player, photographer, gardener, and master woodworker. After retirement Richard now had the time to explore his love for genealogy. He was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, willing to help anyone in need, and beautiful hair. Richard loved spending time with his grandchildren, and enjoyed his Sunday morning breakfasts with Jim Thomas.

He was predeceased by his parents, and his two brothers Gary & Peter Cummings.

Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia (Bunker) Cummings; Son Dominick Bunker and girlfriend Jessie Kendall and her son Kaiden Kendall; Son Jason Cummings and wife Eliberta Cummings, their Children Kai, Landyn, and Peyton. As well as several inlaws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 18, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, a funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 19, at 2:30 p.m., at the Pittston Congregational church, Arnold Road, Pittston, burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery.
