Constance Adelma (Dolley) McLeod Beck
SMITHFIELD – Constance Adelma (Dolley) McLeod Beck, 101 years young, of Smithfield, Maine, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022 after a short hospital stay. She was born in Vassalboro in 1921 to Moses A. Dolley and Evelee (Getchell) Dolley of Vassalboro, Maine.
Constance attended Waterville High School. For many years she worked as a waitress, hostess and manager of the S & H Green Stamps store in Waterville. She loved being a homemaker the most when she could feed up to 30 holiday gathering family and guests. She enjoyed traveling and was a wonderful ballroom dancer with her second husband, Waldo Beck. Constance was awarded the Certificate of Centenarian by the town of Smithfield to recognize her for 100 years of life and the contributions she and her family made to the Smithfield Community.
She spent the last years of her life in her home on The Serpentine in Smithfield enjoying the wildlife year round in and on the stream. She was grateful to be loved and cared for by her son, Brett.
Constance is survived by sons, Scott Mcleod of Massachusetts, Brett McLeod of Smithfield, daughter Merle McLeod of Smithfield and stepchildren, Franny Dubord, William Beck, Maralyn Jones and Richard Beck. She leaves behind many stepgrandchildren, grandchildren; Atom McLeod and Scott McLeod and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved very much.
To respect her wishes, there will be no funeral.
