Judith (Hestwood) “Judy” Feagin

READFIELD – Mrs. Judith (Hestwood) “Judy” Feagin, 81, passed away on Friday October 28, 2022, at home with her loving husband at her side. She is the beloved wife to Oscar “Tom” Feagin with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. 

Judy was born May 31, 1941, in Manhattan, New York, daughter of the late Arthur Brazee and Frances Treadwell (McMullin) Hestwood. Judy resided in Maine for 12 years before she and Tom moved to New Orleans and then to Memphis, Tenn., and returned to Maine where they have resided in their home for the past 17 years. She grew up in Westport, Connecticut and graduated from Staples High School. Judy went on to further her education, graduating from Skidmore College where she earned her BA degree with a major in Art. 

Judy was an accomplished artist, she enjoyed creating paintings of children for many years. 

She and Tom enjoyed doing the puzzles in the New York Times daily. She also loved to paint, cook and play bridge with her friends as well as spending time with her loyal Dachshund dogs. 

In addition to her loving husband Tom, Judy is survived by her two sons James Feagin and his wife Evelyn of Readfield and William Feagin of Readfield. Judy’s brother Robert Hestwood and his wife Christine of Montana, her sister Debra Hinkley of Connecticut. She is also the cherished grandmother of Emery, Silver and Charles Feagin as well as her loyal companion Dachshund “Peyton.” 

Judy’s Memorial Service will be held at the library of her residence at 365 Winthrop Road, Readfield on Friday, November 18, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Kents Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
