Gertrude Caroline Larrabee

KNOX – Gertrude Caroline Larrabee, 77, of Knox, passed away Nov. 10, 2022, at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Gardiner, on Sept. 4, 1945, to the late Charles and Hulda (Baker) Williams.

She enjoyed reading, dancing, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her sister. She was a mother to all who walked in her door. She also enjoyed working each day at Hannaford, where she worked for 33 years. Gertrude’s famous Christmas ham with gravy was loved by all and will never be replicated as fine.

Gertrude was predeceased by her parents; and her brothers Ivan and Charles Williams Jr.

Survived by her husband, Galen Larrabee, whom she married in 1988; her son, James Deschamps; her stepsons Anthony Larrabee, Brady and wife, Ella Larrabee, and Andrew Larrabee; her sister, Marjorie and husband, Nelson Cole, sister, Barbara and husband, Rick Roussel, brother, David and wife, Paula Williams; grandchildren Nyia and husband Jared O’Neal, Kalib, Keira, and Everleigh Deschamps, Olivia Larrabee, and AJ Larrabee; and great-granddaughter, Everly Jo O’Neal; and a host of loving nieces, nephews; cousins; and friends.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, at Veracity Chapel in Morrill.
