Thomas I. Plourde
GARDINER – Thomas I. Plourde,75, passed away on Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta after a lengthy illness and with his loving family at his side. He is the loving husband of Lorna (Lamoreau) Plourde with whom he shared 32 years of marriage.
Tom was born Oct. 27, 1947, in Lisbon. He is the son of the late Marcel and Mary (Elcik) Plourde. He grew up in Lisbon and was a graduate of Lisbon High School Class of 1967. He has resided in Gardiner since 1989.
Tom was a welder for most of his career, retiring from Cives Steel. He previously worked at Bath Iron Works and Pheonix Welding.
He was an outdoorsman, and he loved hunting, ice fishing, camping and bowling. He also enjoyed gardening, going on drives with Lorna, as well as playing cribbage. He was an avid sports fan and followed college football and the Boston Red Sox.
In addition to his loving wife Lorna, Tom is survived by his children Robin Cox and her husband Lindell of Tennessee, Kyle Murdock and his wife Holly of Dexter, Mandee Adams of Lisbon and Kasey Baldwin of Lisbon Falls. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and many close friends.
In addition to his parents, Tom is predeceased by his siblings Toby, Lorraine, Jane and Marcel “Butch”.
Tom’s visitation will be at the Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., noon, followed by a Prayer Service at 12 p.m., noon. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
