Victoria L. Giroux

SKOWHEGAN – Victoria L. Giroux, of Skowhegan, passed away on Nov. 10, 2022 at Woodlawn Nursing Home.

She was born in Sarasota, Fla. Sept. 9, 1927, daughter of Carroll Lincoln and Vera Bean Lincoln. She was raised in Clinton and attended Clinton Schools and Thomas Business School.

In July 1946, she married Joseph Giroux, Jr. of Fairfield. They resided for several years in Fairfield before moving to Connecticut. They moved back to Maine in 1968 residing in Skowhegan, where they bought and operated the Shamrock Restaurant on Route 201. They retired and sold the restaurant in 1981.

Victoria was a member of the Kennebells Barbershop Choir, University of Maine Cooperative Extension Senior Companion Program and Riverside Baptist Church, in Hinckley.

She was predeceased by her parents Carroll and Vera Lincoln; husband, Joseph “Vic” Giroux; grandson, Joseph Pike; and son-in-law, Joseph Pringle; siblings Virginia Brumn, Velma Lundbeck and Robert Lincoln.

She is survived by companion, Eugene George of Skowhegan; daughter, Linda Pike Pringle of Arkansas; and three granddaughters, Diane Pinkham of Madison, Samantha Blankinship of Arkansas, Christine Pringle of Arkansas; several nieces and nephews.

At Victoria’s request there will be a graveside service in the spring at St. Francis Cemetery on Grove Street, in Waterville.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at the Woodlawn Nursing Home in Skowhegan for all their care and support and her companion, Eugene.
