AUGUSTA – Darlton Bouthot, 83, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at Glenridge Long Term Care after a long illness.

Darlton was born Feb. 26, 1939, in Soldier Pond, Maine, son of Albert Bouthot and Eva Thibodeau. He attended schools in Aroostook County and graduated from Fort Kent Community High. The family moved to Augusta where Darlton worked in several restaurants as a cook. He moved to Winthrop in the ’70s where he devoted much of his time to gardening and growing his own vegetables, which he happily shared with others. His other passion was going to yard sales every weekend, looking for some new treasure. During the holidays he would spend a great deal of time making or trying to find the perfect gift for everyone. He was a sensitive and gentle soul who respected all living things.

Darlton is survived by a brother, Vernon Bouthot and his wife Peggy of Mount Vernon, and a sister, Karen Bouthot of Winthrop, as well as many nieces and nephews.
