The Winslow Cub Scout Pack 445 got the opportunity to explore the Winslow Fire Station and learn about firefighters with Firefighter Lt. Adam Burgess and Firefighter Shawn Stetson on Nov. 5. The Cub Scouts are working on their Council Of Fire unit learning about their community and the important rolls in it, according to a news release from Chuck Mahaleris, district vice chairman for the Kennebec Valley District of Scouting.
The Scouts learned many interesting facts about firefighters, what their day to day looks like and what they do to help the community such as Fire Safety Week at the local schools. They thanked the firefighters for their 15 years of service. One of the things the Scouts were surprised to learn is that firefighters are constantly training.
