Augusta-area clerks report high turnout on Election Day as voters point to governor’s race as leading factor driving them to polls
Fayette saw the highest turnout for a midterm election in more than two decades, according to its election warden. In Hallowell, nearly 2,000 of Hallowell’s 2,300 registered voters had cast their ballots by noon on Tuesday, according to City Clerk Diane Polky.
