Richard F. Paine

AUGUSTA – Richard F. Paine, 87, of Glenridge Drive, and formerly of Hospital Street, died Nov. 30, 2022 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Glenridge Drive after an extended illness.

He was born in North Anson on July 4, 1935, the son of Floyd K. Paine and Ruth (Bradley) Paine. Mr. Paine was a graduate of Anson Academy.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years at Digital Equipment Corp. in Augusta.

He was an accomplished flower gardener.

Mr. Paine was a lifetime member of the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge of Augusta.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Beverly L. (Palmer) Paine; a daughter Susan Kenney; and a grandson Phillip Jura.

Surviving are two stepsons, Gary R. Barclay of Hollis Center and Robert L. Barclay of Windham, and a daughter, Linda Jura of Union.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday Dec. 7, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. Committal prayers will follow at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta, ME.
