Pauline Y. Denis

WATERVILLE/ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Pauline Y. Denis, 89, beloved wife, mother, and meme, passed away Nov. 28, 2022, at a health facility in Tampa, Fla.

She was born Nov. 13, 1933, in Waterville, the daughter of Perley and Florence (Audet) York. She attended Waterville schools graduating from Waterville High School in 1951, and also attended Thomas College. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Waterville Window Company in Winslow.

Pauline loved the game of golf. She was a former member of the Waterville Country Club and BETMAR Acres Golf Club in Zephyrhills. She was also a competitive member of the Maine State Women’s Golf Association for many years. She has many accolades as a golfer and one of her proudest was in 2002 when she qualified for a trip to Dubai, Saudi Arabia to compete in an international women’s golf tournament.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Denis; two sisters, Doris Armstrong of Waterville, and Shirley Remmers of Zephyrhills, Fla., one brother, Perley York, Jr. of Bucksport; and a great-granddaughter, Ezra of North Carolina. She is survived by a son, Paul and his wife Kim (Veilleux) of Fairfield, a daughter, Sherri and her partner Joelene Snelling of Hampden; a grandson, Brock and his wife Rileigh of North Carolina; and a great-grandson, Noah.

A memorial service will be held in August of 2023.
