LIVERMORE — Christmas at Norlands is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Washburn-Norlands Living History Center at 290 Norlands Road.
The event features 1870’s style children’s crafts, light refreshments and stories and games led by “Aunt Clara,” known locally as Willi Irish. Trustee Ron Kley will share memories of Norlands’ beginnings from 10 a.m. to noon in the library. Mansion tours and a cookie walk complete the day. Many items are on display in the mansion for the first time, including toys which children are encouraged to play with.
Tickets can be purchased at Norlands and cost $12 for adults, $8 for children and are free for children younger than 5. A family ticket for up to five people can be purchased for $35.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
