Peter Anthony Couture
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Peter Anthony Couture passed away on Nov. 28, 2022. He was born on Jan. 9, 1932 to Joseph and Ruth Jolicoeur Couture in Waterville, Maine.
Peter is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Patricia Cyr Couture; and his five children, Peter Couture II and his wife Cathy and their children Peter III, Eric, and Amanda; Patrice Couture; Angie Couture Kuklinski and her husband David; Paula McGee and her children Frazier, Paige, and Alex; Paul Couture and his wife Amanda, and their children Andrew and Elliot. Peter was predeceased by infant daughter, Patty Ann. He is survived by siblings, Paula Faraday Burke, Claire Grietzer, Hilda Nicolosi, and Horatio Couture.
Peter was a veteran, having served in the Navy between 1951 to 1955 (during Korean War). Throughout most of his life, he was a scratch golfer due to his discipline and mastery of the game. Using that same discipline and work ethic that characterized his approach to everything he did, Peter built Cyrco, inc. into a successful industrial services business. Peter was a member of St. Benedict’s Church and the Knights of Columbus. A man of many talents and abilities, he rarely knew an idle moment. During retirement, if he wasn’t hitting golf balls Pete could be found perfecting his chili recipe, working on projects, building a deck, tending to his gardens, or working on the yard at their homes in Greensboro, NC and Northport, Maine.
A devoted and loving family man, Peter lived a life of true humility, quiet compassion, and sustaining strength with a sense of humor that never failed to lighten the load of everyone around him. He was unfailingly kind and slow to anger. Through the way he lived, right up to the last days and hours, he passed along many life lessons. Although we are profoundly saddened at his passing, the family considers ourselves blessed to have had such a wonderful husband, father, grandfather.
