Glenn C. Withee

DETROIT – Glenn C. Withee, 89, passed peacefully at SVH on Dec. 20, 2022, after a brief illness with loving family at his side.

He was born on May 11, 1933, the son of Wayne and Winnie Withee. He was a very hard working man and enjoyed his job at Maine Fence Company for many years. At the end of the day he would come home to his family and take care of his farm. He was very proud of his herd of Hereford cattle that continued to grow each year.

Glenn was a quiet man who loved family gatherings, cookouts, campfires, and good food. Family members have fond memories of him sitting outside watching traffic go by while listening to country music, tending his flowers, feeding his birds, mowing his lawn, and scratching lottery tickets. He enjoyed riding his four wheeler and attending car shows with close friends, Brett and Joanne. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and will be missed by all.

Glenn is now at rest with his beloved wife of 55 years, Joyce Withee; and his grandson, Steven Weeman.

He is survived by his six daughters, Debbie Ritchie, Glenda Frati and husband Kent, Cindy Burke and husband Gary, Lisa McGinnis, Teresa Withee, and Wendy Withee; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Neal; and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, a private family committal will take place at the Detroit Village Cemetery, Route 220, in Detroit.
