The Camden Public Library and Page Gallery are collaborating to present Camden on Canvas, a plein-air fundraiser scheduled to be held Friday morning through Sunday at noon, July 21-23, in Camden and surrounding communities.
In the library’s third annual event, landscape artists will paint en plein-air (outdoors) at multiple local sites. The weekend culminates with a reception and live auction of one painting from each artist on Sunday, July 23. Artists receive 50 percent of the sale price; the library receives the remaining 50 percent as a donation, according to a news release from Julia Sagaser with the library.
Artists can email submissions to [email protected] by Friday, Jan. 20, following these guidelines:
• Submit three digital photos of recent plein-air paintings;
• submit images in jpeg format at 72 dpi with the longest dimension being 2,000 pixels;
• include each painting’s dimensions; and
• include a website, gallery link, or Instagram link for further context.
Jurors will select the 2023 artist list by Wednesday, Feb. 1.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
