Duane Keith Love
RICHMOND – Duane Keith Love, 62, of Richmond, passed away peacefully on Dec. 29, 2022, surrounded by family after battling cancer for over 2-years.
Duane was born Sept. 20, 1960, in New York, to Frank and Bertha Love. He is one of eight children. His little brother Brian selflessly and lovingly gave two rounds of stems cells that allowed us all another year and half of life with Duane.
He was an avid race car driver for over 20 years and was inducted into the Wiscasset Raceway Hall of Fame in 2021. He loved working on the race car and spending time with friends and fellow drivers during his racing years. His bright smile, kind and generous heart will be remembered by many. The “Gotta Love It” slogan on his race car really captures his loving personality. He also enjoyed camping at The Birches campground, family reunions for the 4th of July, spending time around the fire pit at home with family and friends. He and Karen began a tradition of going to Old Orchard Beach for their Anniversary celebrations and he absolutely loved those seaside adventures.
He was predeceased by his mother and father. His memories will live on with, wife Karen; his two daughters, Tina Love and Stephanie Hatheway and her husband Ted; stepchildren Joey and Hannah McCluskey; granddaughters Brookelynn Gero, Sydney Darveau, Bella Mallay, Maeve McCluskey, and Charlotte Hatheway; and his siblings, Darwin Love and his wife Loretta, Roger Love and his wife Debbie, Thelma Smith and her husband Rev. Bob, Shirley Raddatz and her husband Jim, Kevin Love and his wife Pam, Robin Ouellette and her husband Wayne, Brian Love and his wife Sue; and many nieces and nephews.
