
Robert “Robbie” Morin
GARDINER – Robert “Robbie” Morin, 57, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023 at the Barron Center in Portland. Robbie was born in Augusta on Feb. 16, 1965, the son of Roger and Marilyn (Pratt) Morin.
Robbie grew up in Winthrop and attended Winthrop schools, graduating from Winthrop High School in 1985 with a special certificate.
In 1988 a group of parents got together and established a group home for special needs residents and Robbie lived there until 2017 when he moved to the Barron Center in Portland.
Robbie worked at Goodwill for many years and Hannaford for eight years. He was honored in San Antonio, Texas by TOPS Weight Loss Program, had a black belt in Karate, enjoyed participating in the Maine Special Olympics for many years and especially excelled in the Maine Special Olympics Equestrian Program. He also enjoyed many ventures with his mom and dad traveling in their camper.
He was predeceased by his father Roger Morin; grandmother Marie Morin, grandfather Marshall Pratt; and uncles Marshall Pratt, Jr. (and wife Ita) and Richard Pratt.
He is survived by his mother Marilyn “Emma” Morin; grandmother Gladys Pratt; uncle Carleton Pratt and aunts Jean Pratt and Linda Pratt; and many extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Winthrop. Following the Mass all are invited to a light luncheon at the Winthrop United Methodist Church, Main Street, Winthrop.
