Pine Tree Society in Bath is conducting a statewide Community Needs Assessment survey to capture a detailed picture of service needs among people living with a disability in Maine.
The society plans to use the findings to better address challenges and barriers that prevent people living with disabilities from achieving a higher quality of life, according to a news release from the society.
Within this 10-minute survey, there are specific questions for different types of community members, including:
• Person with a disability;
• caregiver of a child or children with disabilities (under 18);
• caregiver of an adult or adults with disabilities (over 18);
• provider of services for people with disabilities;
• health care provider;
• school-based provider; and
• advocate.
The survey can be found online at pinetreesociety.org.
All responses will be kept confidential. This survey will close at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, and the results will be shared this spring.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
