Stafford F. “Obie” Dyer

MADISON – Stafford F. “Obie” Dyer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on Jan. 18, 2023.

He was born in Skowhegan on June 4, 1937 to Ruth (Paine) and Francis Dyer. He was a life long resident of Madison. He worked for several local companies before becoming a lineman for Madison Electric Works, retiring at the age of 67. He was also a volunteer fireman for the town for many years.

He was an avid outdoorsman who spent his free time hunting and fishing with his family and many friends, and enjoyed spending time at his camp.

He is survived by his daughters Kelley Dyer and James Elias, Julie Erickson and husband Tim; grandchildren Tabetha Peters and partner Aaron Meader, Thomas Elias and wife Zhongling, Kristen Belanger and husband Phil, and Brontë Elias; great-grandchildren Kinsey Belanger, Zohla Meader, Alice Elias, Ariel Elias, and Maverick Belanger; also brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Corey Douglas and wife Judy, Roland Douglas and wife Debbie, Joyce Dillion and husband Thomas, Don Hurd, and Toby Douglas; plus many nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Regina; sister, Christine Ehrlich, brother, Wilford Dyer, sister-in-law, Linda Hurd; niece, Holly Graffam and nephew, Travis Fortin.

We would like to express appreciation, love and gratitude to aunt Joyce “Dodie” Dillion.

The family also thanks everyone at Maple Crest Living Center for their care and kindness during his time there. Thank you also to Redington Fairview General Hospital cardiac doctors, nurses and their 24-hour, one-on-one caregivers.

At Stafford’s request, there will be no funeral services.
