FARMINGTON — Zach Poisson scored 19 points to help the Mt. Blue boys basketball team pull out a 57-50 victory over Messalonskee in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Friday night.
Evans Sterling had 17 points for Mt. Blue (11-5) while Chandler Briggs added 14.
Dan Parent paced Messalonskee (6-10) with 19 points. The Eagles also got 14 points from Merrick Smith.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
KENTS HILL 55, OAK HILL 26: Regina Sabirova scored 20 points as the Huskies stayed unbeaten with the victory in Wales.
Logan McDonald added 17 points for Kents Hill (16-0). Ariana Thibeault led Oak Hill (7-10) with 16 points.
MESSALONSKEE 53, MT. BLUE 37: The Eagles outscored the Cougars 21-3 in the fourth quarter to claim their first win of the season in Oakland.
Ashley Mullen had a game-high 23 points for Messalonskee (1-15). The Eagles also got eight points, five rebounds and three steals each from Kiera Goldsmith and Candace Pelotte.
K.K. Daggett scored 17 points to lead Mt. Blue, which fell to 2-13.
CARRABEC 59, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 43: Lindsay Hamilton had a game-high 27 points as the Cobras prevailed in North Anson.
Molly Hay added 24 points for Carrabec (8-7) in the win.
Justice Gendron had eight points for Mountain Valley (7-8).
VALLEY 62, MT. ABRAM 57: Madeline Hill scored 28 points as the Cavaliers earned the narrow win over the Roadrunners in Bingham.
Brielle Hill added 13 points and Kirsten Bigelow 12 for Valley (13-3).
Abigail Wilcox scored 18 points for Mt. Abram (7-9), while Kharlie Turner had 12.
