LIVERMORE FALLS — Jocelyn Mosher-Collins, who decorates the gazebo for the Christmas holidays, said she is “bummed” that someone stole the tree and damaged the decorations and the new LED lights beyond repair.
The gazebo is behind the Town Office. The vandalism occurred either Jan. 29 or Jan. 30.
The vandal took the lights off the tree and chucked them over the railing, Police Chief Michael Adcock said. Police have a suspect, he said.
The lights, which were purchased with a grant/donation and valued at $195.91, were programmable, and Mosher-Collins said she planned to turn them red for Valentine’s Day. The electrical socket was ripped out of the wall so the lights don’t work.
The tree was valued at more than $50 and has not been found.
“I am bummed,” she said.
The volunteer Gazebo Committee maintains the gazebo and schedules the summer concert series.
