Dorine Carrie Carr

HARMONY – Dorine Carrie Carr died peacefully in her Harmony home on Feb. 7, 2023 in the loving care of her children.

She was born Oct. 25, 1935 in Sangerville to Morrill and Mona Patterson Annis. She attended schools in Harmony, Dover-Foxcroft, Abbott, Dexter and after a memorable senior class trip to New York City, N.Y., she graduated from Piscataquis Community High School in 1953. She married Vernon “Taddy” Carr Dec. 26, 1953.

Dorine initially worked as a stenographer at Pratt and Whitney Service Department in East Hartford, Conn. This was followed by 18 years as office manager/treasurer at Bartlett Yarns, Harmony. In early retirement she earned multiple awards as a successful real estate broker licensed in Maine and Florida.

Dorine was civic minded, holding membership in Morning Star Rebekah Lodge, Parent Teacher Club, Patriarchs Club, Somerset Press – Radio & TV Women and Maine Press – Radio & TV Women and an early member of the Harmony Ambulance Service.

She loved to be with her family and friends. Whether it was providing a ticket to a child for a ride at the Harmony Fair, dancing with her cousins, attending family corn roasts, motorcycle trips, chasing the Harmony girls to dance classes, traveling to faraway places, countless hours attending sporting events, going to class and family reunions or attending a birthday party, she was there with a smile.
