MADISON — Callan Franzose had 25 points and 10 rebounds as eighth-seeded Madison defeated No. 9 Waynflete 52-34 in a Class C South preliminary game Wednesday night.
The Bulldogs will play top seed Dirigo in the quarterfinals Monday night at the Augusta Civic Center.
Franzose drained five 3-pointers. Up 25-17 at the half, Madison broke open the game with a 17-2 run in the third period.
Deacon Murray added 11 points for Madison. Nico Kirby scored 15 points for No. 8 Waynflete (11-8).
CARRABEC 67, ST. DOMINIC 55: Luke Carey had 25 points and 10 assists as the sixth-seeded Cobras (12-7) prevailed in a Class C South prelim at North Anson.
Carrebec will face No. 3 Richmond in the quarterfinals Monday in Augusta.
Carey was 13-for-14 from the free-throw line. Teammate Joel Gehrke netted a game-high 29 points.
Taylor Varney scored 14 points for No. 11 St. Dominic (8-11), while Jack Brocke added 11.
