John Lewis Drouin
ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – John Lewis Drouin of Oakland, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 28, 2022 at his Florida residence.
John was born on Sept. 30, 1947 to Florian “Blackie” and Blanche Ameire (Bushey) Drouin. John also had an older brother, Gilbert Drouin. John attended both Waterville and Belgrade schools.
John served in the U.S. Army 11th Aviation Battalion, 128th Aviation Company and served 18 months in Vietnam from 1965-1966.
John met and was married to Bonnie Harris for 53 years.
John was a business man and was well known in the car business for many years, John also worked part time for UPS and then retired after 25 years.
John and his son, Byron also owned and operated Brookside Lawn and Garden and Toff spray on truck bed liners of Winslow Maine for an additional 13 years before John fully retired.
During his retirement John loved attending car shows, and splitting his time between Maine and Florida.
John is survived by his wife, Bonnie Harris Drouin; his son Byron G. Drouin; his grandson, Brayden H. Drouin and all of his remaining cousins.
Services will be held in the spring at the Augusta V.A. Cemetery fallowed by a celebration of life.
His wishes were to donate to the Waterville Humane Society and the Salvation Army to help both animals and people in need.
