Frances L. Huff
BURNHAM – Frances L. Huff, lovingly called Tootsie, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Feb. 25, 2023, in Augusta. She was a beloved wife, mom, gram, meme, and sister.
Frances was born on April 4, 1949, in Burnham, the oldest child of Harold Flood and Eleanor Braley Flood. She worked for many years at SAS Shoe and Perfect Fit.
Toots loved to garden and diligently canned her vegetables. She enjoyed fishing with Harry and Aaron, taking trips with her family, and spending time with her grandchildren-each one was her favorite. She loved going to yard sales and playing any game with a deck of cards, especially cribbage, poker, and solitaire. She was very special and always took wonderful care of her family. She will be missed beyond words.
She is survived by her three children, Valerie Gilbert and her husband, Mark, Mindy Nyman, and Aaron Huff and fiancée Tiffany Emery; 10 (and one to be born in July) grandchildren, Heidi, Nicholas, Emily, Ashly, Jason, R.J., Kaitlyn, Mariah, Kenneth, Kohana, and to be born Harrison; three great-grandchildren: Jadyn, Aleah, and Huddy; siblings: Andrew Flood and wife Loretta, Linda Howe, Michael Flood, Edwin Flood, Peter Flood, Tina Bradford and husband Mark, Martin Flood and companion Sheila Frost, Christine Rowe and husband Dennis, Tricia Bubar and husband Reggie, Aimee Graves and husband Steve, and Jennifer LaBrecque and husband Joey; sister-in-law, Gloria Huff; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Roger and Sue Huff and George and Rose Goodridge; uncles and aunts: Tom and Phyllis Braley, Stephen Braley, and Hilda Hawkins; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
She was predeceased by her mother, Eleanor Flood; father, Harold Flood; loving husband, Harry; brother, Joe Flood; son-in-law, Doug Nyman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Manley and Doris Huff; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ike and Stella Huff, Ralph Huff, Carol Goodridge, and Ruth Cianchette.
A very special thank you to the wonderful staff at MaineGeneral in Augusta for the exceptional care that was given to our mom.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Huff Cemetery, Mount Road, Burnham.
