Franklin Savings Bank, a local financial institution, joined the community’s efforts to protect the environment by participating in an Earth Day cleanup event. As part of its commitment to sustainable practices and community involvement, employees gathered April 22 to clean up the downtown and surrounding areas.
The Farmington event was organized by Jessica Casey of the Farmington Public Library, locals Chris and Jody Palmer with support from the Farmington Public Works Department. Volunteers from across the community picked up trash and other debris, ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for all. The volunteers picked up everything from plastic bottles and bags to old tires, bikes and discarded electronics. Bank employees not local to Farmington contributed their own way, getting volunteers and going out in their neighborhoods, according to a news release from Courtney Austin with the bank.
As a socially responsible institution, Franklin Savings Bank recognizes the importance of environmental protection and the role that each individual and organization plays in contributing to a healthier planet. By participating in this event, bank employees demonstrated their commitment to this cause and contributed to the efforts of making a positive impact on the environment.
“We are proud to be part of this Earth Day cleanup event,” said Beckie Bowering, FSB business solutions officer. “We believe that it is our responsibility to contribute to the well-being of our communities and the environment. We hope that our participation inspires others to join the efforts towards environmental protection and sustainable practices.”
