FARMINGTON – Gaynor Wilcox, 69, passed away at 3:36 a.m. on Feb. 28, 2023 having spent her last years at Sandy River Center in Farmington.

Gaynor Claire Wilcox was raised in Rangeley, spending her early days caring for her horse and practicing dressage while meeting vacationing actors.

Gaynor attended Thomas College in Waterville before marrying Ron Markee of Winslow and starting a family in Sidney. She loved day trips to the coast, hated seafood. Deeply appreciative of fiction, Gaynor loved musicals, the Rat Pack and Fred Astaire, British comedy and mystery, especially PG Woodhouse and Agatha Christie novels and adaptations.

Gaynor is survived by her brother, Bruce Wilcox and sister-in-law, Jennifer Wilcox; daughter, Briana Markee; granddaughter, Annie Durocher and grandsons Zac and Zim Durocher; and son, Leeman Markee and daughter-in-law, Christina Ricciardelli.

In lieu of services, an informal gathering of family will take place in the summer to scatter her ashes at Pemaquid Point.
