WAYNE — Dorian Monaghan, 22, of Lewiston was injured in a snowmobile collision Sunday on Androscoggin Lake, officials said.
Monaghan was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston via LifeFlight of Maine in stable condition with injuries not considered to be life threatening.
Maine Warden Service spokesman Mark Latti said Monaghan and three others were operating snowmobiles across the lake about 3:50 p.m. around Lincoln Point when Monaghan fell off his snowmobile and was struck by another member of his party.
Game wardens, Winthrop Ambulance, and Wayne, Readfield and Monmouth fire departments responded to the scene. Responders brought Monaghan to shore where he was transported by LifeFlight to CMMC.
“At the time of the crash there was a substantial amount of fresh snow on the surface of the lake, which resulted in unique riding conditions,” said Latti.
Maine Warden Service continues to investigate the crash.
