Roy L. Higgins Jr.

NAPLES, Fla. – Roy L. Higgins Jr., 76, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Feb. 25, 2023. Roy was born in Albion, Maine on March 14, 1946, to Roy and Louise Higgins.

He graduated from Northeastern University in 1966. He was a brilliant engineer who retired after 30 years as an executive at Verizon. Roy retired to Naples, Fla. in 2007 where he enjoyed fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and golf with his many golf buddies at Vanderbilt Country Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing all over the world, and particularly his cabin near Buffalo, New York.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Linda Upton Higgins; five children, Sherry (Paul) Conti, David (Cristina) Higgins, Julee Higgins, Laurie (Sal) Gattinella and Tess (Dave) Goldstein; brother, Lawrence (Penny) Higgins; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Daniel Higgins.
