WATERVILLE — A local man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in November at the Goodwill store in downtown Waterville.

Kevin Lee Barr, 43, of Waterville was charged Wednesday with Class A armed robbery and Class C unlawful possession of fentanyl powder after police searched his home, according to acting police Chief Bill Bonney.
In a statement released Thursday to the news media, Bonney said that after the armed robbery Nov. 26, 2022, the suspect fled on foot from the store at 10 Concourse West.
Officer Ryan Dinsmore and his police dog, Riggs, tracked the suspect and found several items of evidence, Bonney said.
Detective Chase Fabian investigated the case, which culminated in a search and arrest warrant issued for Barr, according to Bonney.
Fabian and other officers searched Barr’s home and arrested him without incident, Bonney said. At the time, Barr was found with 0.6 grams of fentanyl powder.
Barr’s bail has been set at $10,000, and he is being held at the Kennebec County Correctional Facility in Augusta. He is scheduled to appear in court May 8.
