Mark Joseph Ryder

AUGUSTA – Mark Joseph Ryder, 48, a beloved father, brother, stepson, uncle, partner, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Augusta on Feb. 27, 2023.

Mark was born in Augusta on Sept. 30, 1974, the son of Jeff Mark Ryder and Dolly Jane Ruby.

He went to school in Hallowell-Augusta, Waterville-Fairfield, and Alabama. Mark spent the majority of his adult life in Sycamore, Ala., and Box Elder, S.D. before moving back to Maine in 2015.

He was a skilled magician as well as a CDL driver. He will be remembered for his love for God, his love for family, his joy in making people laugh, and his amazing magic tricks.

Mark was predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by his sons Jaidon Smith of Clinton, Kylan Wimmer of Box Elder, S.D., and Asher Ryder of Box Elder, S.D., daughter, Ava Ryder of Box Elder, S.D.; sisters Jessica DeMott and her partner Tyler Jasud of Fairfield, Ericka Lagasse of Brewer; stepfather, William Lagasse of Fairfield; partner, Angelique Korbet of Waterville; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 18, at 2:30 p.m. at the New Beginnings Church of God, 392 Main St., Waterville, before a celebration of life.
