Corinne H. “Connie” Dionne

GARDINER – Corinne H. “Connie” Dionne of Gardiner, died Saturday, March 11, 2023, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side at the Alfond Center for health in Augusta.

She was born in Milbridge, Maine on June 21, 1927, the daughter of the late David and Marjorie Leighton. She graduated from Gardiner High School and the Kennebec School of Commerce.

She was a lifetime member in the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, a member of the Four-Leaf Clover Senior Citizens Club, a State Retiree from the Department of Human Services and a member of AARP. She was also a Member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church.

She was predeceased by her husband Philip Dionne in 1998, and brother Spencer Leighton.

She is survived by one son, Norman and wife Rita of Vermont; grandchildren Elizabeth Dionne of Vermont, Laura Rooney of Mississippi, Ted Dionne and wife Kasia of Vermont, and John Dionne and wife Grace of Vermont; eight great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, at 10 a.m, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, a private spring burial beside her husband will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, in Gardiner.
