Jodi Lee Learned
RANDOLPH – Jodi Lee Learned, 53, of Randolph, passed away unexpectedly at home on Feb. 12, 2023.
Jodi was a graduate of Gardiner Area High School, class of 1987. There, she was a member of the swim team and yearbook club. As a teen, she enjoyed going walking to 7-Eleven to get a big gulp. After high school she attended University of Southern Maine as an English major. After college, Jodi moved to Redondo Beach, Calif. which was one of the best times of her life, but moved back to Maine to be closer to her family.
Jodi was an avid animal lover and donated to animal rescue organizations. Jodi provided so much love to her sweet cat, Serengeti (Seren for short). She enjoyed swimming and being by the ocean, Popham Beach being her favorite in Maine. Jodi also enjoyed spending time in the summers at her family cottage in Northeast Harbor, and at other family camps including one on Annabassacook Lake.
She had fun playing cards, cribbage and bridge were her favorites. She loved music and was a huge fan of Kurt Cobain and the Ramones. Jodi was hospitable and at family gatherings was always the first to greet and offer all of the guests something to eat or drink.
Jodi was survived by her loving mother, Sally Lerette of Augusta; and younger brothers Stephen Learned (and wife Janet Learned) and Keven Learned (and wife Madhu Learned) all of South Gardiner; and several dear friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved grandparents Phillip and Yvette Lerette, and Shirley Lerette, and uncle, Ron Moody.
Like so many, Jodi had challenges in her life but had a strong belief in God and loved church. Her family finds peace in knowing she is happier in Heaven watching over those she loved so dearly.
A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, March 23, at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine Church at 75 Northern Ave., Augusta, ME 04330. Reception to follow immediately at St. Monica’s Hall located adjacent to St. Augustine.
Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the Staples Funeral Home website, http://www.staplesfuneralhome.com.
