AUGUSTA — Sophie Laing, staff attorney and student loan specialist at Pine Tree Legal Assistance, plans this month to present the basics of student loans, repayment options, opportunities for forgiveness or cancellation based on disability, profession, or school misconduct, and the rights as a student loan borrower.
The free event will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 23, at the Lithgow Public Library, 45 Winthrop St.
The presentation is a part of the Know Your Rights series by Pine Tree Legal Assistance.
People can look for more Know Your Rights presentations in the upcoming months from Pine Tree at the library, according to a news release from Sarah Schultz-Nielsen, library director.
