Sadie Edna Bigelow
CORNVILLE – Sadie Edna Bigelow, 95, passed away on March 25, 2023, at Woodlawn Nursing Home. Sadie was born on Jan. 4, 1928, daughter of Rosa and Clarence Wyman in Townsend, Mass.
She attended schools in Townsend, Mass. On May 3, 1972, she married her beloved husband, Walter Bigelow, of Cornville. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 7, 2022.
Sadie was foremost a homemaker and mother. She later worked for Maxim’s Fur Farm, Dirigo Stitching, and numerous personal assistant jobs. She held the Boston Post Cane for being the oldest resident of Cornville since 2019. She loved gardening, birds, sewing, cooking, baking, and listening to country music. She was well known for her delicious pies and other treats.
She is survived by her husband, Walter and five children: Maurice Robbins of Anson, Bruce and Nancy Robbins of Kelseyville, Calif., Andy and Linda Harvey of Yellville, Ark., Esther Folsom and partner Kip Keating of Cornville, and Debbie and Buzzy Salisbury of Beddington. She is also survived by her sister, Abigail Letourneau of Leominster, Mass. She leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Special sister-in-law, Marilyn Gilman Kennard of Cornville, and Phyllis Kerr of Skowhegan. Special friends Mark and Leslie Hewey of Cornville. Too many cousins, nieces and nephews to name but was very much loved.
She had a passion for cats and dogs and left behind her little dog Brady who she loved very much.
She was predeceased by her parents, Rosa and Clarence Wyman, brothers, Joseph Noel, Charles Noel, and Edward Noel. Sisters, Lena Donavan, Evelyn Pelletier, Marjory Fryling, Prudence Lindsey, Eva Robbins, and Clara Smith.
Special thanks to Dr. Prokop and Woodlawn Nursing Home for the special care given to our wife and mom. Special thanks to nurse Sharon for being there guiding us through this trying time.
There will be a private viewing for the family followed by a graveside service at South Side Cemetery at a later date.
