AUGUSTA — Lithgow Library’s new monthly program series features beginner gardening techniques.
The first program, April Seed Starting, is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, in the Community Meeting Room of the 45 Winthrop St. library.
Participants can talk about seed starting and think about how to organize their garden and/or container gardens in a way that works for them. They will take a look at seeds and how to understand some of the packaging details. They may even plant a few seeds to get their vegetables or flowers going for transplanting later in the spring.
This program is free, but space is limited.
Call 207-626-2415 and ask for the Reference Desk to register.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
