Nancy (Ferguson) Thompson
HINGHAM, Mass. – Nancy (Ferguson) Thompson, formerly of Manchester, was born July 26, 1930, in Quincy, Mass., daughter of Winston and Doris (Chapman) Ferguson of Wollaston Hill, Mass. She graduated from Jackson-Von-Ladau School of Fashion in Boston.
Nancy was President of Women’s Clubs and Chairwoman of various hospital auxiliary fundraisers and volunteer in New Hampshire and Maine, past Associate Grand Worthy Advisor of Massachusetts I.O.R.G., and a Gray Lady. A member of D.A.R. and Republican Party until the last few years. She loved contesting – winning two cars for a three-word slogan among numerous other wins. She had a great adventurous life and traveled the world with best friend and husband, Bill.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 73 years, Col. William James Thompson, Jr. of Hingham, Mass. She was the beloved mother of William James Thompson, III of Wellesley, Mass., Robert Thompson (Sharon) of Pasadena, Calif., and Deborah Stano (Gerard) of Weymouth, Mass. Grandma-Nancy to Katherine Stevens, Allison Stevens (Eric Evarts), Brittany Horton (Andrew), Chase Thompson (Alexandra), Michelle Stevens, and Carissa Thompson, and five great grandchildren.
