Donald R. Willett

WOOLWICH – Donald R. Willett, 61, of Woolwich, died Saturday, April 29, 2023, at his home with loved ones by his side.

He was born in Gardiner on Dec. 28, 1961, the son of Philip and Daisy (Williams) Willett.

Donald grew up in Chelsea. He attended Chelsea Elementary and Hall Dale high School. He spent his career working in the construction industry as a foreman/heavy equipment operator. He could often be found behind the controls of an excavator on most jobsites for Crooker Construction, Ferraiolo Construction, State Paving and Willett Family Construction.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. He loved hosting gatherings with food and music for his family and friends. He was a man of his word and would go out of his way to help someone in need. He will be remembered as a great family-man, a loving husband and father, a protector and a friend.

He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Darlene; granddaughter Jordan.

Donald is survived by his wife, Diane Willett, of Woolwich; his kids, Dawn and husband Josh Parker of Leeds, Jessica Willett of Chelsea, Phillip Willett and companion Kristen Lewis of Windsor; his siblings Timmy and Wendy Willett, Nancy Martin, Sandra Jones, Carrie and Paul Mcgee, Bertha and Chet Trussell, Robert Smith Jr., Roberta Morgan; grandchildren Caden, Maddox, Atticus, Xavier and Tru; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Don’s graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 15 at 10 a.m., at the Riverside Cemetery, Arnold Road, Pittston. There will be a celebration of life for friends and family at his home in Woolwich following the service.
