Roger J. Vachon

AUGUSTA – Roger J. Vachon, 88, of Northern Ave., died on Feb. 24, 2023 at VA, Togus. He was born on June 21, 1934 in Augusta, the son of Placide and Edna Vachon.

Roger worked at Carlton Woolen Mill in Gardiner for 10 years and later Edwards Mfg., of Bates division for over 40 years. He was also employed at Frank Pomerleau inc.

Roger was a communicant of St. Michael Parish. He was a lifetime member of the Calumet Club, where he was very active. He was also a member of the Cushnoc Senior Citizens.

Roger was predeceased by his parents, and a son Daniel Vachon. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Cecile Robichaud Vachon; daughter Kathy Vachon Leifester and husband Leo; stepgrandsons Leo Jr., and wife Janet, Adam Leifester, step granddaughters Ari and Emily. He is also survived by sister-in-law Joan, and special friend CJ.

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, May 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Cemetery, Augusta.
