West Gardiner Community Conversations, an awareness series on Maine programs that help improve the health and well being of all Mainers, is scheduled for 6-7 p.m. Thursday, May 18.
The talk will be held at the West Gardiner Fire Station at 318 Spears Corner Road in West Gardiner.
“The Opioid Epidemic Touches Us All” will be its first topic presented by Dawn Kearns, the Kennebec County OPTIONS liaison.
Those who attend can learn how community members can help combat this crisis and save lives through substance use prevention, harm reduction strategies, creating pathways to recovery, de-stigmatizing substance use disorder, Narcan distribution, and more, according to a news release from Janine Bonk, vice chair of the West Gardiner Democratic Municipal Committee.
