MADISON — American Legion Post No. 39 is scheduled to host the Great Bean Cook Off from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at the 20 Maple St. post.
There is a $10 entry fee. Bean dish contestants must be signed up and paid by Thursday, July 13.
Beans must be at the Madison American Legion by 11:30 a.m. the day of the event. All bean dishes must be cooked beans. Bean dishes must have enough to serve a half-cup serving to 25-plus people. Contestants can enter more than one bean dish.
Voting starts at 12:15 p.m. and ends at 2 p.m. Winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m.
All bean dishes will be judged by public vote. The judge fee is $3 to taste all the bean dishes and vote for the winning pick.
Applications are available at the American Legion Hall.
