Warren Thompson
WELLINGTON – Warren Thompson, 90, passed away peacefully June 27, 2023, at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Bangor. He was born Aug. 1, 1932 in Woodland, a son of Ralph and Lorraine (Wright) Thompson.
He served in the Army as a medic driving an ambulance during the Korean War. He also had many jobs throughout his years including working on the railroad as a teenager, driving truck, working in the
woods, and hand sewing shoes for many years.
He loved spending time with family and friends. One of his greatest loves was for music. He couldn’t wait for Friday nights to play, sing and listen to others at the Harmony Community Center with the Friday Night Jammers.
He was predeceased by many siblings; and great friends.
He is survived by his companion, Mildred Thompson; daughters Sandy Wood and Debbie Morrison and partner Dave Gardner; granddaughters Tiffany Wood and partner Tobey LaChance and Diana
Engelhardt and husband Jonathan; siblings Mickey, Rita, Connie, Merle and Clifford; great-grandchildren Logan Maskell and partner Amanda Wiswell, Reese Germon and partner Grant Fortier and Keegan LaChance; many nieces, nephews; and special friends. He will also be missed by Rocco, his favorite four-legged friend.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 6 at the North Road Cemetery, Harmony, with Pastor Yaron Kohen officiating.
