WINTHROP — A camper reportedly stolen two months ago was recovered by the Winthrop Police Department on Monday, but officials have not yet identified who is responsible.
Inside the camper, police also found several items they hope will help solve other cases involving stolen property.
“We have recovered items that we believe were stolen from Monmouth,” said Winthrop police Lt. Joshua Hammond. “There are also a bunch of items that we believe to be stolen but we have not confirmed that as of yet.”
Police did not specify what the items were.
The vehicle is not one of the two that were allegedly stolen from Scott’s Recreation in Manchester in recent months, police said. One of those vehicles was reportedly taken in April from an overflow lot used by the dealership while the other was reported missing from the same location in October of last year.
So far, no arrests have been made and the case is still under investigation.
