Virginia Rae “Ginny” Hersom
HALLOWELL – Virginia Rae “Ginny” Hersom, 96, formerly of Hallowell passed away on Friday July 7, 2023.
She was a graduate of Winchester High School in Winchester, MA and received her AS from Lasell University in Newton, MA.
Ginny was a member of Altrusa International, Daughters of the American Revolution, Augusta Players, Red Hat Society and Cobbosseecontee Lake Association (formerly the yacht club). Ginny enjoyed her bridge get togethers, traveling to playhouses across the state, cherished her time at camp, riding her Seadoo and spending time with friends and family.
The family has received many positive comments regarding Ginny’s Seadoo rides around Cobbosseeconte lake, even as recently as last summer. She was an avid collector of all things, “Blue”, Cat, Loon and Lighthouse related.
Preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Norma Terhune, two sisters, Marion Diepenbrock and Elnora Buechler, husband Dr. Frank S Hersom II, son Fred C Hersom II, son-in-law Henry E Snow and grandson Alexander N Snow.
Ginny is survived by her daughter Norma Rae Wilson and fiancé Joseph Lacroix, son Troy K Hersom and his wife Sandi, son Rory T Hersom and his wife Tammy, 6 grandchildren Kent, Samantha, Benjamin, Gwenivere, Bailey and Joel and two great grandchildren Farris and Tucker (with one on the way), numerous extended family members and many many dear friends. At Ginny’s request there will be no services scheduled, however there will be a “Celebration of Life” planned for some time later this summer.
