GREENE — An early morning fire destroyed a trailer home and a vehicle Thursday.
Greene Fire Chief John Soucy said firefighters were dispatched at 3:45 a.m. to a structure fire at 338 Lane Road. When they arrived, the home and the car were burning.
The fire was reported by the residents and a neighbor, he said. All three people inside the home made it out safely.
It took about 30 minutes for firefighters to knock down the fire. Soucy said multiple roof lines from an addition to the trailer home made it more challenging to extinguish the fire.
The home and the car are a total loss, Soucy says. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
According to tax records, the property is owned by Richard and Diane Laberge. The building was valued at $24,800.
About 30 firefighters from Greene, Lewiston, Turner, Leeds, Monmouth, Wales and Sabattus fire departments were on the scene.
