AUGUSTA — Maine Conservation Voters recently elected four new members to its board of directors: Laura Bither of Freeport, Sara Freshley of Portland, Marcques Houston of Portland, and Mike Williams of Cumberland.
MCV’s Board guides the organization’s vision, strategy, and decision-making on issues impacting Maine’s environment, democracy and our climate future.
“MCV is committed to making sure all Maine people have access to a healthy environment, a strong democracy, and a sustainable economy,” said Executive Director Maureen Drouin. “We’re so excited to welcome these four new members to our board where they’ll provide new and unique perspectives on taking bold action to tackle the climate crisis while ensuring a fair and equitable economic transition for our communities.”

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
