Elyse Marion (Young) Mercier

ATHENS – Elyse Marion (Young) Mercier, 76, passed away on July 19, 2023, due to health complications.

Elyse is survived by her husband, David of Athens; Daughter, Donna Mercier of Skowhegan; former son-in-law, Dwayne Bates of Skowhegan and two grandchildren; son, David Paul Mercier and wife, Melanie, and six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Jane Steelmach, of Webster, Mass.

Elyse always was a very caring woman and loved her family through all of life’s ups and downs. Elyse’s favorite times were visiting her sister, a few hours at a casino, preparing meals, giving gifts and Christmas, and watching Wheel of Fortune with her husband. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is predeceased by her brothers, parents, and grandparents.
