The Washington Recreation Department plans to hold the Washington Challenge on Sunday, Aug. 6, and The Washington Lakes & Watershed Association Photo Content Exhibition will soon be on view.
In the Washington Challenge, 5K & Fun Run participants will meet in the Gibbs Library parking lot, 40 Old Union Road in Washington. Registration is set for 7-7:45 a.m.; races start at 8 a.m.
Courses are out and back with hills. Medals will go to winners, male and female, all age groups. Fun Run medals for first, second and third, male and female, will be awarded, T-shirts will be available while they last, and door prizes will be drawn.
The photo contest exhibition will be on view at the The Corner Gallery, Washington Village Center, 403 Liberty Road in Washington. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, Aug. 7-11. Those who attend can vote for their favorite photo.
Winners will be announced at the association’s annual meeting, set for 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Medomak Family Camp Lodge.
