Raymond D. Lacasse
EAST HAVEN, Conn. – Raymond D. Lacasse of East Haven, Conn. died Monday July 31, 2023 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Wendy Thompson Lacasse.Raymond was born Jan. 29, 1946 in Dennistown, Maine, son of the late Joseph D. and Eva Couture Lacasse.
He served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam era. Raymond worked as a heavy equipment operator for Local 478, working for 33 years for Empire Paving, until retiring. Ray was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the Branford Gun Club and the Irish-American Club.
He loved his koi pond at his home, was a real handyman who could fix anything, but above all Ray was big family man, nothing was more important than family.
Besides Wendy, Ray is survived by his children, Debbie (David) Casner of East Haven, Raymond D. Lacasse, Jr. of Branford, Kelly (Bryan) Petit and Kori (Michael) Morgan, both of Florida; his five grandchildren, Mark and Amanda Palmieri, Kylie and John Dahlberg and Hunter Wooster; his siblings Ramona Varney, Francis Lacasse, Alan Lacasse and Deanna Bowden, all of Long Pond, Maine. He is also survived by his pups, Finnegan and Molly. He was predeceased by his first wife, Louise Lacasse.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation, Sunday afternoon from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, and may attend his funeral service Monday morning at 11:00 in the funeral home. The burial will be private.
